How much of your life is spent battling razor burn, painful waxing appointments, ingrown hairs, and "strawberry legs"? It is time to put an end to the endless cycle of temporary hair removal. At Derma Medica’s premier clinics in Dortmund and Düsseldorf, we rescue you from the ineffective methods of standard beauty salons and introduce you to the ultimate solution: Permanent Medical Laser Hair Removal. Utilizing gold-standard, FDA-approved technologies including Alexandrite, Nd:YAG, and Diode lasers, we can safely and effectively treat all skin types (from the fairest to the darkest complexions) and hair textures. By precisely targeting and destroying the hair follicle at its root, combined with advanced cryo-cooling systems for a virtually painless experience, we provide flawlessly smooth skin. Say goodbye to shaving and waxing forever with Derma Medica's medical expertise.
| Removing unwanted hair has been a major aesthetic challenge for centuries. However, shaving, waxing, epilators, or depilatory creams only cut or tear the hair above the skin surface. Because the hair follicle remains alive beneath the dermis, the hair grows back within days or weeks. Furthermore, these primitive methods irritate the skin, cause dark pigmentation, and pave the way for painful, unsightly ingrown hairs. | ![]() |
Many treatments marketed as "laser hair removal" in beauty salons are actually "IPL" (Intense Pulsed Light)—which isn't a true laser at all. IPL scatters light, temporarily putting the follicle to sleep, causing hair to return months later. At Derma Medica, in our medical centers in Dortmund and Düsseldorf, we perform a true clinical procedure: Medical-Grade Laser Hair Removal. By targeting the melanin (color pigment) in the hair root with a pure, concentrated, single-wavelength beam of medical light, we heat and permanently destroy the follicle, permanently halting its capacity to produce hair. | ![]() |
In our clinics, there is no "one size fits all" machine. Based on your skin tone (Fitzpatrick scale), hair thickness, and follicle depth, we utilize 3 globally recognized medical wavelengths to ensure maximum efficacy and safety:
Alexandrite Laser (755 nm): The gold standard for individuals with light skin and dark hair. It is incredibly fast and binds to the hair root with astonishing precision, triggering immediate shedding.
Nd:YAG Laser (1064 nm): Because its wavelength is much longer, it safely "bypasses" the melanin in the skin and penetrates directly to the deepest hair roots. This makes it 100% safe and effective for dark skin tones, tanned skin, or ethnic skin types without any risk of burns. It can be performed safely all year round.
Diode Laser (810 nm): Delivers excellent results on stubborn, thick, or deep-rooted hairs, particularly on men's backs and chests. It is often applied using a dynamic, "in-motion" technology for faster treatment of large areas.
![]() | ❄️ No Pain, No Burns: Advanced Cooling SystemsThe biggest fear for many patients is the pain associated with lasers. The devices at Derma Medica clinics are equipped with integrated Cryogenic (Gas) or Contact Cooling (Ice Tip) systems that cool the skin to -3 degrees Celsius milliseconds before and after the laser pulse. This protects the epidermis, eliminates burn risks, and ensures you only feel a mild "rubber band snap" or a cool sensation during the procedure. |
Hair on our body exists in three different phases: Anagen (Active Growth), Catagen (Transition), and Telogen (Resting). Laser energy can only successfully destroy hairs that are in the Anagen (Active Growth) phase, where the hair is directly connected to the root blood supply.
In a single session, only about 15-20% of your hair is in the anagen phase.
To catch the remaining hairs as they cycle into the active phase, treatments are spaced 6-8 weeks apart for the body, and 4 weeks apart for the face.
For flawlessly smooth and permanent results at Derma Medica, an average protocol of 6 to 8 sessions is required.
At our Dortmund and Düsseldorf clinics, medical laser hair removal is incredibly popular among our male patients.
Athletes: Swimmers, cyclists, and bodybuilders seek smooth skin for muscle definition, hygiene, and performance.
Back and Shoulders: Permanent eradication of dense back and neck hair, which is a common source of discomfort for men.
Beard Line and Neck: To prevent severe razor burn and ingrown hairs (Folliculitis) caused by daily shaving, we use the laser to permanently define sharp cheek and neck contours.
What is the difference between IPL and Medical Laser? IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is scattered, broad-spectrum light with weak energy that does not permanently end hair growth; it merely delays it. Medical Lasers used at Derma Medica use a single, highly concentrated beam to strike the target and permanently destroy the follicle.
Can laser hair removal cause cancer or damage internal organs? Absolutely not. Laser light is non-ionizing radiation (unlike X-rays). The beam only penetrates 2-4 millimeters into the skin to reach the hair follicle. It does not go any deeper and cannot affect internal organs or lymph nodes.
Can I get laser treatments during the summer? Traditional Alexandrite lasers cannot be used on tanned skin. However, thanks to the advanced Nd:YAG laser technology available at our Derma Medica clinics, we can safely continue your medical hair removal treatments even in the middle of summer or immediately after a sunny holiday.
Say Goodbye to Razors and Wax: Instead of wasting time and money on temporary fixes for the rest of your life, gift your body the luxury of permanent smoothness. Book your free hair and skin analysis appointment at our Derma Medica Dortmund or Düsseldorf clinics today!
